2000 Sound: 20th August. Kaylan Shakes It to highest new entry as Anastacia's grip on number one remains unbothered.

Seems like this was a pretty slow and steady week until you look past our top 4 or 5 and realize that it was a pretty busy week so I am going to blow through the top three here because nothing changed with "I'm Outta Love" by Anastacia holding firm at number one for another week ahead of "Jumpin' Jumpin'" by Destiny's Child stuck at number two and "Freestyler" by Bomfunk MCs glued at number three for another week.

Now this is where we get to the changes because unfortunately Five and Queen's "We Will Rock You" climbed one place to number four bringing with it "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi which climbed two places to number five...I'll explain why in a few moments why this rebounded. but first we have to deal with "Thong Song" by Sisqo keeping it's pretty gross presence in the top ten at number six...honestly, we can dump this song's ass at any time, Australia.

Then we have the eleven place gain for "Breathless" by The Corrs which skyrocketed to number seven this week...something I didn't see coming but okay.

Now we get to the reason for the return of "It's My Life" to the top five, "Shalala Lala" by Vengaboys collapsed four places to number eight this week as sales finally started to sputter out.

Aaliyah's "Try Again" fell one spot to number nine. Finally Madison Avenue's "Who the Hell are You?" is hopefully seeing it's final week in the top ten by remaining in the top ten.

Gains

The biggest gain of the week was "Breathless" by The Corrs which I have already mentioned in the top ten but apart from that? There was a five place gain to 31 for "Take a Look Around" by Limp Bizkit and a four place gain for "Rome Wasn't Built in a Day" by Morcheeba to 36 but that was about it.

Re Entries

Jut the one return this weeks that being "Rock Me All Night" by Kaylan at 47...more Kaylan when we get to the new entries.

Losers

Couple of big losers mostly down the lower end of the chart such as Black Legend's "You See the Trouble With Me" which plummeted from 26 to 42...ouch.

Not a great week for Australian music either with Christine Anu's "Sunshine On A Rainy Day' fell to 41...I'm fine with this not becoming a hit...it's not a great song while"Ordinary Girl" by Jackson Mendoza tumbled 16 places to 46 and "Blow Up the Pokies" dropped eight places to 48.

Finally, Naughty by Nature's "Holiday" is almost over as it crashed nine places to 50.

New Entries

So I did mention that there was more Kaylan to talk about, well, they have the week's highest new entry with "Shake It" in at number 15. Not a bad achievement especially glancing through the big names in our new entries.

Britney Spears returns with her second single from her new album, the song called "Lucky" about a girl leading a famous life debuts at number 20.

Pop music veteran Janet Jackson is back on the charts with "Nothing Really Matters" at number 28 and finally Jennifer Lopez returns with the pretty annoying "Lets Get Loud" in at number 49

ARIA Singles top ten/Chart Review: 17th August. Australia gets hit by some WAP in the top ten

This week felt weird especially as it feels like the chart is heading for some major changes that didn't quite happen this week...case in point...the top ten where for a  sixth week "Savage Love" by Jawsh 685 and Jason DeRulo spends a sixth and likely last week at number one, it's still doing fine on streaming and sales but have you seen the numbers for our new entry at number two? They are huge which brings us to "WAP" by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion debuting at number two and looks set to take the number one spot easily next week as it rules on streaming and is doing decently on sales as it rides the somewhat overblown controversy that came with it.

It pushed back "Rockstar" by DaBaby and Roddy Ricch back to number three as it finally started to leak on streams and collapse on sales. "Roses" by Saint Jhn remains steady at number four

The song that just refuses to go away is "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd which rose three places to number five on the back of streaming somehow...this song will likely top Australia's year end list if this keeps up.

"Watermelon Sugar" remains at number six for Harry Styles, the same goes for "Breaking Me" by Topic feat. A7S.

The second of the new entries to the top ten is "Smile" by the late Juice WRLD and The Weeknd, a song that should be better than it is.

Speaking of Juice WRLD, "Come & Go" with Marshmello rose one place to number 9 and finally riding a massive streaming surge "Mood Swings" by Pop Smoke feat. Lil Tjay rose from 34 to number ten off it's debut last week and is the biggest gainer on the ARIA singles chart this week.

Gains

So outside of "Mood Swings' by Pop Smoke and Lil Tjay having the biggest gain of the week up 24 places to number ten, we had a nine place gain for "Head & Heart" by Joel Corry to number 11.

A string of gains for older songs that can be pinned to the continued receding of the Taylor Swift album bomb "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi continues to hang around like toxic fungus on the nether regions up from 32 to 25 somehow (this is an example of why the ARIA chart needs a recurrent rule) while "Before You Go" jumped up seven places to 30...yuck.. however in better news "Don't Start Now" by Dua Lipa rebounded to 28.

"Everybody Rise" by Amy Shark climbed six places to 34.

Re Entries

Two re entries with "For The Night" by Pop Smoke back at 32 and "Ride It" by Regard returning for a second time at number 46.

Losses

The biggest loss wasn't for any of the Taylor Swift songs still on the chart for "Popstar" by DJ Khaled and Drake which flop starred down from 22 to 39 while "Standing with You" by Guy Sebastian sat down from 26 to 40.

"Go" by The Kid Laroi and Juice WRLD stopped to drop eight places to 49.

As for the Taylor Swift songs to lose this week, "Cardigan" fell out of the top ten to 12, :"Exile" feat. Bon Iver hit 17 and "The 1" dropped to 29.

Drop Outs

All the drop outs this week are Taylor Swift album tracks with "The Last Great American Dynasty", "My Tears Ricochet", "August", "Mirrorball", "Seven" and "Invisible String" all gone.

New Entries

So I have already mentioned two of our four new entries this week with "WAP" by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion at number two and "Smile" by Juice WRLD and The Weeknd at number eight.

The other two new entries come from 17 year old Canadian singer and actress Tate McRae with "You Broke Me First" at number 47 and finally Sia's "Together" in at 48 (if "Together" becomes a hit...its a contender for my worst hit songs of 2020 for certain).

So that wraps up the week, next week will likely see "WAP" go to number one but we're probably going to get a new entry from Drake in the top ten so watch out for that one...Miley Cyrus may also debut int the top 50, we'll find out on Saturday at 5pm AEST

2000 Sound: 13th August. Robbie Williams Rocks DJ while Anastacia's still outta love at number one

Let's rip straight into this week because we have a healthy dose of new arrivals and some interesting moves on the chart this week that don't start right at the very top where Anastacia spends a third week at number one with "I'm Outta Love" and right now this song is a sales juggernaut, it's just ruling everything and getting played extensively on the radio (Hot 30 Countdown LOVES this song).

However it finally has some new competition at number two because rising two places is "Jumpin' Jumpin'" by Destiny's Child as it also has sales momentum but just not enough to challenge "I'm Outta Love" however it was enough to unseat "Freestyler" by Bomfunk MCs which slipped one place to number three.

Vengaboys continue on their surprisingly strong chart run with "Shalala Lala" up one place to number four this week, I'm stunned it's held on to the top 5 however right behind it is "We Will Rock You" by Five and Queen up two places to number five...honestly this cover even with Queen involved isn't good...please...just let's let this one die.

Mercifully though of all that meant "Thong Song" by Sisqo took a well deserved three place plunge to number six as sales fell off this week. Good.

Bon Jovi fell one place to number seven with "It's My Life" and honestly I'm just surprised that it's still here!

Especially as we have a song arriving in the top ten with Aaliyah's "Try Again" up three spots to number eight, this song is huge in the USA right now and yeah it's definitely a solid R'n'B tune.

Then we have Billie Piper's "Day & Night" which got stuck at number nine again this week while "Who the Hell are You?" by Madison Avenue fell two to number ten.

Gains

Honestly not too many major gains this week with the biggest coming for "Shackles (Praise You) by Mary Mary which went up eight to 27 while "Everything You Want" by Vertical Horizon is up four places to 28 (Good, I really would like to see this song become a hit)...

Aside from that...well...'Breathless" by The Corrs is up four to 16.

Re Entry

The one re entry is from the Red Hot Chili Peppers with "Californication" back at 44.

Losers

Same deal for the losers this week too with "So Real" by Mandy Moore falling six places to 31 while "Got Beef" by Snoop Dogg Presents Eastsidaz slipped from 28 to 34.

"Take a Look Around" by Limp Bizkit also hit a welcome six place skid to 36 and Christine Anu's increasingly annoying "Sunshine on a Rainy Day" got a four place cold rain shower down to 37.

However the biggest fall was for "Holiday" by Naughty by Nature with signs that the holiday on the chart is about to come to an abrupt end down ten places to 41.

Finally John Farnham's "Trying to Live My Life Without You" took an eight place plunge to 50.

New Entries

We have a long list of new arrivals that are mostly from the United Kingdom strangely enough with the biggest debut of the week belonging to former Take That bad boy Robbie Williams with "Rock DJ" at number eleven..I actually kind of dig this song...don't ask me why.

In at number 26 is a collaboration effort by two Italian DJs/producers Enrico Ferrari and Ciro Sasso along with British vocalist Elroy "Spoonface" Powell and together they come up with a remix of a song recorded by Barry White and Ray Parker Junior in 1976 called "You See the Trouble with Me"

At number 33 is an English/Dutch all girl group rather unimaginatively called Girl Thing" with their debut single called "Last One Standing"...if you aren't seeing the similarities between this and the Spice Girls 1996 hit "Wannabe" then yeah you'd be deaf, only real difference is the members of Girl Thing half rap in the verses...not to mention I think Jodi (?) references Cyndi Lauper.

English electronic band Morcheeba hit the Australian singles chart at number 42 with "Rome Wasn't Built in a Day"...a song perfect for radio to play every couple of hours...lovely...not.

We then have a novelty act also from the USA called Daphne & Celeste with their second single "U.G,L,Y" in at 47...a song that is actually rather hilarious even if rather childish...anyway it's in at 47.

The second last of our new arrivals brings the ROCK to the chart, British band Gomez with their EP called "Machismo" in at 48 and finally the latin flavour is brought by Santana who has teamed up with The Product G&B for "Maria Maria" at 49..it would not surprise me if this song is a hit..its ridiculously catchy.

ARIA Singles top ten/Chart Review: 10th August. "Folklore" falls back as Billie Eilish goes top ten on her future and a UK smash finally debuts

This week is a relatively busy cooldown week after a massive album bomb where a lot regained their slots big time, others only just made small recoveries as Taylor Swift's "Folklore" receded but let's get to our top ten where as expected "Savage Love" by Jawsh 685 and Jason DeRulo rode streaming and sales traction to return to number one, it's pretty comfortable but it might face a challenge from the new song by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.

It's certainly not facing that challenge from "Rockstar" by DaBaby and Roddy Ricch as it starts to bleed on sales and while it's still fine on streaming, the challengers are coming for it.

There's the biggest new entry of the week at number three with Billie Eilish's "My Future" debuting high but this isn't going to stay high as the song is already falling away on streaming and sales.

"Roses" by Saint Jhn rebounded two places to number four but again, it's position is shaking as it is getting passed on streaming and sales just aren't what they once were.

Taylor Swift's "Cardigan" fell four places to number five and really it was some surprisingly decent streaming that kept this song from falling harder.

The biggest gainer within the top ten is Harry Styles "Watermelon Sugar" which regained four places to number six. I'd keep an eye on this song, it's run isn't done yet especially on streaming, this could rise further especially with some weaker songs ahead of it.

Same goes for "Breaking Me" by Topic feat. A7S which rose two places to number seven on the back of still solid streaming but those sales are starting to show worrying signs.

"Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd continues to show no signs of really fading as it regained four places back into the top ten at number eight because it's still doing okay on streaming but streaming is all it has.

"Exile" by Taylor Swift feat. Bon Iver didn't fall as hard as I expected it would, it only fell six places to number nine. This song is being touted as the next single from "Folklore"

Finally, "Come & Go" by Juice WRLD and Marshmello is back in the top ten up one to number ten.

Gains

So even allowing for the fact, I am only going to be covering the large gains that happened...this section is going to be LONG...warning you all now but here goes...the biggest gain of the week was "Be Kind" by Marshmello and Halsey which jumped from 40 back up to 23...which is pleasing because I still like that song.

"Some Say" by Nea continues to rise and be a likely hit up nine places to 14 this week. Radio loves this somehow, also up nine was Juice WRLD's "Wishing Well" to 17.

Pop Smoke's "The Woo" continues to be a presence in the top 20 as it regained 12 places back to 18 (more on Pop Smoke in the new entries this week) while "Break My Heart" by Dua Lipa jumped back up from 31 to 19 this week.

Tones and I's "Dance Monkey" somehow continues to hang around up ten places to 24 while "Stuck with You" by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber crawled from 32 to back to 25 (WHY?)

"Look Into My Eyes" by Brando rose ten slots to 28 as it really continues to look like being a hit...some goes for "Secrets" by Regard and Raye which climbed from 46 to 29.

Finally "This City" by Sam Fischer recovered from 47 last week to hit 36 this week.

Re-Entries

So now let's deal with what returned to replace the Taylor songs that exited the chart and honestly it doesn't start too well when the biggest of the returns is "Before You Go" by Lewis Capaldi back at 32.

Fortunately it does get better with "Circles" by Post Malone back at number 42 and "Adore You" by Harry Styles at 45.

The tepid "Lose Somebody" by Kygo and OneRepublic re enters at 46 even though I'm amazed ARIA remembered this song existed while "Ily" by Surf Mesa and Emilee is back at 47

The final return is "Pump It Up" by Endor at 50.

Losers

So let's go through the Taylor Swift losses here because that's majority of the losers here, the biggest being "Seven" which hit 48, "Invisible String" is almost cut loose from the chart at 49, "Mirrorball" shows it's cracks at 43, 'August" fell backward to 39, "My Tears Ricochet" dried up at 30, "The Last Great American Dynasty" slipped to 21 and "The 1" stumbled to 15.

Drop Outs

Again the drop outs for the most part are Taylor Swift album tracks so let's blow through these, we lost "This is Me Trying", "Illicit Affairs", "Betty", "Mad Woman", "Epiphany", "Peace" and "Hoax" however she also took "Home and Away" by OneFour and "Tell Me Why" by The Kid Laroi.

New Entries

So apart from Billie Eilish's "My Future" debuting at number three, we got the current UK number one smash hit from Joel Corry with "Head & Heart" in at number 21...this is starting to show signs of being a monster hit in Australia too.

Finally, "Mood Swings" by Pop Smoke feat. Lil Tjay swings in at number 34.

That wraps what was a busy old week regardless, next week, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion swing in, I'm not sure it will debut at number one but we'll have to see what happens when ARIA announces the updated chart on Saturday at 5pm.

2000 Sound: 6th August. 2nd week at the top for Anastacia as Ronan Keating jumps on the chart rollercoaster

So have a pretty modest week. Not a lot of movement within the top ten but enough there for it to be interesting plus your regularly scheduled list of new arrivals, we begin as usual with the top ten where for a second week "I'm Outta Love" by Anastacia has hold of the number one spot and right now this song is looking pretty comfortable for awhile, I don't see anything topping it for the time being.

Especially when you look at our number two and three that being "Freestyler" by Bomfunk MCs and "Thong Song" by Sisqo respectively, neither are a threat to the number one and look like coming under a stern challenge from Destiny's Child's "Jumpin' Jumpin'" which rose six places to number four this week, it pushed "Shalala Lala" by Vengaboys back one place to number five as it showed some weakness on sales.

Rock stayed steady this week with "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi remaining at six and "We Will Rock You" b Five and Queen glued to number seven.

The biggest fall though came for Madison Avenue's "Who the Hell Are You?" which took a three place hit to number eight as it starts to weaken...finally.

Remaining at number nine is "Day & Night" by Billie Piper while "Toca's Miracle" by Fragma drops two spots to number ten.

Gains

The Corrs are "Breathless" with their six place rise to 20 with their recent single while Faith Hill has begun to "Breathe" in her chart run up from 34 to 27 this week.

Invertigo's "Desensitized" rose from 35 to 29 which is great because I still like that song a lot. Same goes for "Everything You Want" by Vertical Horizon which rose 12 places to 32.

"Blow Up The Pokies" by The Whitlams climbed eight places to 37. Everclear also jumped eight to 38 with "Wonderful".

"Teenager of the Year" by Lo-tel got a nine place gain to 39.

Re Entries

Just the one return with Matchbox Twenty's "Bent" back at 47.

Losers

So the biggest loser was "There You Go" from Pink which took a dive down twenty to 50, not surprising really given it's been losing ground consistently over the last few weeks/

Tupac Shakur's "They're Tryin' To Kill Me" is down eight to 48 this week along with a massive fall for Bardot's "I Should Have Never Let You Go" which fell from 24 to 41 this week...yikes...looks like the hype for this group died pretty quick

New Entries

Former member of Boyzone, Ronan Keating has the highest new entry of the week with his single "Life is a Rollercoaster" in at number 19.

Jackson Mendoza has a thing for the ladies as "Ordinary Girl" arrives at number 24.

Taxiride's "Nothing In This World" is in at 43 while Anuj's pop r'n'b has hit the charts at 44 with "Can You Stand the Heat?".

Finally, A Perfect Circle debut at 49 with "The Hollow"/

ARIA Singles/Top Ten/Chart Review: 3rd August: Taylor Swift's Folklore sparks chart chaos

Well this week was dominated by one woman and boy it showed on the ARIA singles chart this week as Taylor Swift's Folklore swept aside everything in its path with no fear to break all kinds of records. Yes, all sixteen songs from Folklore hit the ARIA top 50, she broke the record for the most number of debutants on the ARIA singles chart in one week, this album bomb is double the size of the Juice WRLD "Legends Never Die" album bomb so I suggest you strap yourselves in.

The impact of the Folklore can be felt immediately in the top ten where we have a new number one and the first of five songs from Folkore in the top ten, "Cardigan" by Taylor Swift. Now, this isn't going to stay at number one because this got to number one the back of large streaming courtesy of the hype and excellent reviews but that's all it has, it's not going to sustain itself there which opens the way for "Savage Love" by Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo to return to the top spot after falling to number two, it's got back the streaming lead and looks strong on sales.

Then there are two Taylor Swift songa with "Exile" feat. Bon Iver at number three, Bon Iver's first top ten ARIA singles chart hit and "The 1" at number four.

"Rockstar" by DaBaby feat Roddy Ricch slipped down three spots to number five this week but it's still doing well enough on streaming to recover next week. The same goes for "Roses" by Saint Jhn" down three to number six.

The final two Taylor Swift songs in the top ten are "The Last Great American Dynasty" at number seven and "My Tears Ricochet" at number eight.

At number nine is "Breaking Me" by Topic feat. A7S which slipped four places and "Watermelon Sugar" by Harry Styles which also tumbled four places but both these should recover especially "Watermelon Sugar" which seems to have found new legs on streaming

Gains

There was one gain this week and that was "Go" by The Kid Laroi feat. Juice WRLD up eleven places to 36 but that's connected with the release of The Kid Laroi's album "Fuck Love"

Losers

EVERYTHING not Taylor Swift took big tumbles outside the top ten. Let's start with songs that were in the top ten last week "Come & Go" by Juice WRLD and Marshmello went down 7 places to 11, "Rain On Me" by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande poured down nine places to 17, "Go Crazy" by Chris Brown and Young Thug went down crazy to 20 and finally "Popstar" by DJ Khaled and Drake plunged 16 down to 26...the last two aren't welcome back in the top ten when the Taylor album bomb recedes next week.

Then there's former top ten hits like "Rover" by S1mba feat. DTG which slipped nine to 24, "Standing with You" by Guy Sebastian sit down to hit 27 while "Wishing Well" by Juice WRLD got leaky and hit 28, "Break My Heart" by Dua Lipa had it's recovery disturbed as it dropped from 15 to 31 and "Stuck With U" by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber become unglued to drop to 32 from 16.

"Supalonely" by Benee and Gus Dapperton also fits in the former top ten hits category, it's feeling lonely as it plummeted from 18 to 37 this week along with "Death Bed" by Powfu feat Beabadoobee which dropped from 24 to 45.

Then there's songs that have had their momentum take hits from which they may not recover like "The Woo" by Pop Smoke which hit 30 from 19 and "Party Girl" by StaySolid Rocky which suffered from the girl being a party pooper as it tumbled 15 to 35 while Brando's "Look Into My Eyes" slipped seven to 38, "Be Kjnd" by Marshmello feat Halsey plunging from 21 to 40 and "Everybody Rise" by Amy Shark falling over 10 places to 44. Finally in this category, "Secrets" by Regard feat. Raye dropped from 27 to 46.

Two songs that the Taylor Swift album didn't clean off the chart like former chart topper "Dance Monkey" by Tones and I which only took a hit down from 16 to 32...this song has quietly been staging a mini revival of late while "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi slumped foen from 28 to 42.

Also taking a drop were songs safely on the year end list anyway like "Don't Start Now" by Dua Lipa which fell from 26 to 41, the biggest loser of the week "Savage" by Megan Thee Stallion which dropped from 25 to 50, "Intentions" by Justin Bieber feat. Quavo fell hard from 23 to 39.

Likely on the way out anyway is "This City" by Sam Fischer as it dropped from 29 to 47...

Phew! That finishes that. Most of this should rebound and it will be telling what doesn't...,

Drop Outs

In line with all the new arrivals, we also have a long list of drop outs that might or might not comeback however Taylor pretty much wiped out most of the Juice WRLD album bomb with "LIfe's A Mess" feat. Halsey, "Hate The Other Side" with Marshmello, Polo G and The Kid Laroi, "Righteous" and "Conversations" gone and won't be back unless singles.

Also gone but might return next week but are year end list certainties like "Adore You" by Harry Styles, "Before You Go" by Lewis Capaldi, "Ride It" by Regard, "Sunday Best" by Surfaces, "Toosie Slide" by Drake, "Say So" by Doja Cat and "Circles" by Post Malone with the last not eligible for either of my lists because it made my best list in 2019.

Then there are the songs that are question marks for year end list like "ILY" by Surf Mesa feat. Emilee, "Pump It Up" by Endor and "Blueberry Faygo" by Lil Mosey, they also took with them "Lose Somebody" by Kygo and OneRepublic, "Love Songs" by Daryl Braithwaite, "Greece" by DJ Khaled and Drake and finally "I'm Good" by Hilltop Hoods

New Entries

So lets get through the rest of the new entries that I haven't gotten to as yet. From the "Folklore" album bomb for Taylor Swift, we have eleven songs new outside the top ten: "August" at 13, "Mirrorball" spinning around at 14, "Seven" at 16, "This is Me Trying" at 18, "Invisible String" at 19, "Illicit Affairs" at 21, "Betty" at 22, "Mad Woman" at 25, "Epiphany" at 29, "Peace" at 33 and "Hoax" at 43.

Finally we have two new songs with The Kid Laroi's "Tell Me Why" new in at 49 because of the album and finally not connected to an album, we have OneFour with "Home and Away" at number 48.

What a week, we'll find out the fall out of all of this next week. I don't mind this album bomb from Taylor because the album is fantastic and yeah I have already ordered my copy. Also next week, there's a new Billie Eilish song likely to debut high and goodness knows what else, we'll find out when the chart updates at 5pm AEST on Saturday

Thursday, 30 July 2020

2000 Sound: 30th July. Anastacia goes number one while Five and Queen try to rock everyone in the top ten

This week feels like a relief...we're through the absolute mess that the last couple of weeks have been and we do have quite the busy week across the board so let's rip into that top ten where we finally have a new number one that's pretty damn good that being "I'm Outta Love" by Anastacia, it had a great sales week to take the top spot, it pushed "Freestyler" by Bomfunk MCs at number two this week as it just got beaten on sales hard by "I'm Outta Love"... thank goodness.

What isn't going anywhere much to my annoyance is "Thong Song" by Sisqo, which pretty much has outlived it's purpose for being on the charts around a fucking month ago, remaining at number three because the public hate me!.

Up three to number four is "Shalala Lala" by Vengaboys, it's got traction on sales. Wish the song was better but sales were enough to push "Who the Hell Are You" down to number five and 'It's My Life" by Bon Jovi.

There's a new entry at number seven with Five teaming up with Queen for a remix/remake of Queen's classic hit "We Will Rock You". I'm not to say it's the worst thing Queen have done but my god it's not good, behind that though is the one place gone for Fragma with "Toca's Miracle" up to eight this week, surprised how well this song is sticking around but it also meant that it pushed "Day & Night" by Billie Piper back to number nine this week.

Finally "Jumpin' Jumpin'" by Destiny;s Child lives up to its name by jumping twenty five places to number 10 this week. This one is likely to follow "Say My Name" in being a hit.

Gains

So I already spoke about the big gain for "Jumpin' Jumpin'" by Destiny's Child but there was also a good gain for Eminem's "The Real Slim Shady" which rose from 22 to 15 this week...this could also go top ten soon, it has hit written all over it.

Unfortunately Killing Heidi's "Live Without It" rebounded from 31 to 18, I don't know why, it's not anywhere near as good as "Weir" or "Mascara"

Sonique's "It Feels So Good" jumped seven to 21 this week while Real Blondes got an eight place return to forty off the back of their return last week.

Losers

So we have a big list of losers this week that seem mostly because of all the new arrivals that flooded the chart which we will get to shortly.

We'll start with former number one "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child dropping 12 places to 39 this week while "Mambo Italiano" by Shaft took a deep dive from 30 to 41 as did Lo-tel's "Teenager of the Year" to 48.

S Club 7's really tepid ballad "Two in a Million" dropped from 33 to 49 this week proving how underwhelming that song is especially when "Friday Night" or "Viva La Fiesta" would have been the better songs to release from that album as singles.

Forner top ten hit "There You Go" by Pink dropped fifteen places to 30..ouch but that might have been coming anyway

Sadly, Kaylan's "Rock Me All Night" dropped from 36 to 50. Bit of a shame as I like that song a fair bit.

New Entries

Whoo boy. We have a busy week on this front, folks, seatbelts on because it wasn't just "We will Rock You" by Five & Queen entering at number seven this week and is the highest new entry of the week.

The next two are follow up singles following success on the chart previously with Sash! are following up their top ten mash "Adelante" with a song entitled "Just Around The Hill" which has debuted at number 27 and Coco Lee following up "Do You Want My Love?" with "Wherever You Go" in at number 29.

American gospel duo Mary Mary have their first ARIA charting single with "Shackles (Praise You) debuting at 33. Bit rare that a Christian song has hit the ARIA charts but its fine enough, it's not outwardly as annoying and poorly produced as a lot of Christian based music can be.

Rapper Tupac Shakur is in at 36 with "They're Tryin' To Kill Me", Sister2Sister bemoan how much they have fallen in love on "Too Many Times" at number 37 while Joe says "I Wanna Know" at 38,

The new entries keep coming with Hanson's "This Time Around" in at 42 (I like this song a fair bit so I hope it does well), Darude's "Sandstorm" blows in at 43 and Everclear announce the arrival of "Wonderful" at number 46,

FINALLY, John Farnham is the last of the new entries at number 47 with "Trying to Live My Life without You"
