ARIA Singles top ten/ Chart Review: February 25th: Mixed cooldown week as Ariana stays at number one

So this week saw a chunk of the Ariana Grande album  bomb leave the charts and some interesting new arrivals including a regaining of traction for a couple of songs that I really didn't expect but returns and new entries are interesting to say the least.

For now, there's no change at the top with "7 Rings" by Ariana Grande remaining at number one however with the album bomb receding and streaming slowing, I am not sure how long this song will remain at number one especially with what is set to be arriving on the chart next week.

Mercifull it remains ahead of Ariana's new single "Break Up with your girlfriend, I'm Bored" which remains at number two and right now I don't see that going much higher for much the same reasons as "7 Rings" with streaming starting to fade and this song's digital sales a bit iffy, it's in trouble if streaming completely borks.

Then it's an open question of what challenges it, it may well not be "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee.

The song that might have some chance is Post Malone's second song in the top 5 "Wow" which jumped one place to number four.which pushed "Bury a Friend" by Billie Eilish down to number 5 (the album release can't come soon enough for Eilish's song).

"Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper remains at number six. There's a possibility that this song will rise back into the top 3, there's also a chance that it could knock "7 Rings' off number one when the Hot 100 for next week is released.

"Sweet But Psycho" by Ava Max got a one place boost up to number 7 which can be attributed to the Ariana Grande album bomb falling back.

"Dancing With a Stranger" by Sam Smith and Normani rose two places to number 8 again probably due to the album bomb falling off.

Now we have new arrival to the top ten that being "Talk" by Khalid and Disclosure which made a massive leap from number 24 to number 9 this week off the back of streaming and reasonable digital sales.

Rounding out the top ten is "Without Me" by Halsey which dropped one place to nunmber ten as it heads out of the top ten. Good. The song sucks.

Gains

A lot of songs gained off the back of the Ariana album bomb dropping away with the biggest of thosse gains belonging to "I'm So Tired" by Lauv and Troye Sivan which jumped from 45 to 25.

Sadly there was a ten place gain for The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer collab "Who Do You Love?" to number 18. That song is terrible.

"Giant" by Calvin Harris and Rag 'N' Bone Man breaks back into the top 30 up from 33 to 24. "Bad Liar" by Imagine Dragons inexplicably also returns to the top 30 at number 26 up from 32.

Two songs that defeated what I said last week by rising were "Confidence" by Ocean Alley up 3 to 34 and "Middle Child" by J Cole which climbed back up to 27.

Dominic Fike's "3 Nights' seems set to unfortunately become a hit because it's now up ten places to number 20...Australia, why? A good instrumental doesn't make up for bad lyrics..

Re-Entries

There's good news in the re-entries with two fantastic songs back with "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen back at 46 and "Nights Like this" by Kehlani and Ty Dolla $ign at number 50.

Losses

Most of the big losses are for the Ariana Grande album tracks with "Needy" to 38, "Bloodline" to 31, "NASA" to 40, album promo track "Imagine" to 41 and "Bad Idea" to 42 while the lead single and former number one "Thank U, Next" dropped to number 11.

Other than that the only other one that fell was "When the Party's Over" by Billie Eilish which fell four places to 35

Drop Outs

The only significant one was Dynoro's "In My Mind" leaving and good riddance to it. The rest were Ariana album tracks like "Fake Smile", "Ghostin", "In My Head" and "Make Up"

New Entries

All three of the new entries are collaborations with Cardi B and Bruno Mar's new single "Please Me" in at number 22.

YUNGBLUD has teamed up with Halsey and Travis Barker for a song called "11 Minutes" which turns up at number 30 and finally, Zedd and Katy Perry's "365" enters at number 39.

So next week,,,"7 Rings" should hang onto number one depending on how the new Pink song does and what impact the Oscars performance of "Shallow" has so. Don't forget the new chart is announced by ARIA at 5pm AEDT on Saturdays.

Charting 1996; February 18: Shaggy returns to number one

So things on the ARIA singles chart this week have been in a state of flux lately, at least thats what I noticed when I glanced at the chart where no song has been able to stay at number one for mre than two weeks, I say that because there's been yet another change at the top and it's actually a song returning to the number one spot, it's "Boombastic" by Shaggy which had a good sales week to tip
"Wonderwall" by Oasis back to number two after just a week at number one. Whether "Boombastic" has the momentum to be a three or four week number one remains to be seen.

"Be My Lover" by La Bouche regains traction to jump back up to number three even though the song still blows chunks.

Deep Blue Something's "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is having their breakfast while remaining at number 4 for a second week.

"Give Me A Reason" by Tracy Chapman virtually swapped with La Bouche and slipped back two places to number 5 while "Tell Me" by Groove Theory remained at number 6. Fine by me, I don't mind either song.

Then we have the first of three big moves into the top ten this week with Monica's "Don't Take it Personal (Just One of Dem Days" which moved all the way from 16 to number 7. Can't say I care about this song all that much but whatever the case, it's her first top ten hit in Australia.

Another big mover was Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet" which leaped six places to number 8 this week, it's also her first top ten hit after "Army of Me" peaked at 35 in May 1995.

TLC have their second top ten hit with "Diggin' On You" jumping from 15 to number 9 this week. Pretty good way to follow up their big hit "Waterfalls".

All this saw "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men slip back two places to number ten.

Gains

After 7 continue to make big gains with "Til You Do Me Right" up ten places to 22 this week.

Looking like it may well be a hit, Joan Osborne's "One Of Us" leapt 11 places to 23!

Alex Party also had a ten place gain with "Wrap Me Up" up to 33 while people are loving "Warm Summer Daze" by Vybe which went to 39.

"The Good Life" by The New Power Generation jumped nine places to 41.

As does "Peaches by The Presidents of the United States of America which broke into the top 30 this week at 26.

Losers

Pearl Jam's "Merkinball EP" slipped from 33 to 46 to be the biggest loswr of the week. Surprisingly Madonna was another loser with "You'll See" in freefall, down 12 to number 40.

There were big falls also for songs like "Boom Boom Boom" by The Outhere Brothers which slipped from 10 to number 20 and also for CDB's "Let's Groove" which dropped from 9 to 19 but really both those two songs are on their way out, as is "Fairground" by Simply Red which fell from 31 to 42

New Entries

The Smashing Pumpkins have already experienced chart success with "Bullet with Butterfly Wings which is at number 38 this week but they are also back on the chart with "1979" at number 32 and is the highest debuting new song to the chart.

British duo known as Everything but the Girl have their first Australian charting song with "Missing" entering at number 34.

British easy listening group The Mike Flowers Pops have landed on the ARIA top 50 with their early 60s style cover of "Wonderwall"...lets not keep this nonsense on the chart for too long, okay, Australia?

Wrapping up the week is British electronic dance producer Motiv 8 with "Break the Chain" entering at number 50.

Sunday 17 February 2019

ARIA singles top ten/chart/review: 18th February: Ariana's entire "Thank U, Next" album reaches top 50.

Well, we got a fully fledged album bomb from Ariana Grande with every single track from her fifth album "Thank U, Next" reaching the top 50 of the ARIA singles chart and given the chart a pretty thorough clean out and it was about time too.
e
But firstly to the top ten and Ariana has now spent a month at the top of the charts with "7 Rings" and really, it's position is starting to look a bit shaky if and when streaming from the album dies off because this song is already starting to suffer on sales due to our new number two also by Ariana and sadly the worst song from the album "Break Up with your Girlfeiend, I'm Bored" which is also the new single with a video, geezus Ariana, "Bloodline" the Rihanna rip off would have been a better choice of single for crying out loud.

That meant "Sunflower' by Post Malone and Swae Lee dropped to number three, a song I have come to really like lately but I suspect if anything I like because I have gotten to used it.

Slipping a place to number four is Billie Eilish's "Bury a Friend" which I sincerely hope sticks around in the top ten because it is an excellent song.

Post Malone's second song in the top five "Wow" also joins the songs that lost ground down to number 5. Now I expect this song and "Bury a Friend" to regain traction as the Ariana album dies.

Coming off a big night at the Grammys is "Shallow which jumped four places to number 6 and with the Oscars still to come. Don't be surprised if this song finds it way back into the top 5 but its going to need streaming on its side.

Returning to the top ten is "Thank U, Next" by Ariana Grande which jumped from 11 to number 7 this week. I don't see this staying in the top ten when the album bomb fades. Just saying.

Dropping three places is "Sweet But Psycho" by Ava Max to number 8 and yeah, those strreaming numbers aren't great, I'll not be surprised if Ariana has triggered the exit for this song.

Also suffering a three place fall are both "Without Me" by Halsey to number 9 and "Dancing with a Stranger" by Sam Smith and Normani to number 10. I do expect "Dancing with a Stranger" to rebound but we'll see.

Gainers

So uhh apart from :"Shallow" and "Thank U, Next". There's nothing to talk about here.

Losers

The big losers that probably won't regain lost traction next week are "Confidence" by Ocean Alley which fell to 37 from 18 which isn't surprising because radio ain't that keen on it. The rest are 2018 songs that are on the way out anyway like "In my Mind" by Dynoro down to 50 from 39, "Be Alright" by Dean Lewis down to 34 and "Let You Love Me" by Rita Ora down from 29 to 38.

I'd also suggest "Middle Child" by J Cole which dropped to 35 from 19 is the only 2019 that might struggle to regain lost ground.

Re-Entries

So with the album bomb,  "Imagine" by Ariana Grande come back at number 25.

Drop outs

Most of the drop outts this week should be back in the top 50 next week like "Saturday Nights" Khalid, "Hope" by The Chainsmokers and Winona Oak, "Lie to Me" by 5 Seconds of Summer. and "Ruin My Life" by Zara Larsson.

Maybe back in the top 50 next week: "Nights LIke this" by Kehlani feat. Ty Dolla $ign,

Unfortunately probably won't be back "Before I Go" by Guy Sebastian and"High Hopes" by Panic at the Disco. Also put "So Close" by NOTD feat. Felix Jaehn, Captain Cuts and Georgia Ku.

Gone and hopefully won't return: "Girls Like You" by Maroon 5 and Cardi B (How much longer are we going to tolerate this simpering, pandering trainwreck of  song on the charts, Australia?), "Mo Bamba" by Sheck Wes, "Lost in the Fire" by Gesaffelstein and The Weeknd and "Zeze" by Kodak Black feat Travis Scott and Offset (a terrible song that has thoroughly been on the fucking chart for way too good damn long. Good riddance)

New Entries

So let's blow through the Ariana Grande album tracks that entered below the top ten.

"Bloodline" jumped in at number 11 (it should have been the single), "Needy" arrives at 13, "NASA" rocketed in at 16,  "Bad Idea" and "Fake Smile" at 21 and 22 respectively, "Ghostin" at 26, "In My Head" arrives 36 and "Make Up" at 41.

Finally there were two songs that entered that aren't Ariana Grande songs, the first of those is "Talk" by Khalid and Disclosure at 24 and "Who Do You Love" by The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer (a song that really should have just been a 5 Seconds of Summer song as The Chainsmokers add nothing to it).

Next week sees the fall out from all of this and the probable arrivals of the new Cardi B and Bruno Mars collab, Katy Perry working wth Zedd and who knows what else. The chart gets announced on Saturday 23rd February at 5pm.

See you guys later for "Charting 1996"

Thursday 14 February 2019

ARIA Singles top ten \ chart review: 11th February. Billie buries herself in the top 5

So I am going to take this week because let's face it, next week is going to be ridiculous with the Ariana Grande album likely to see the entire album debut on the chart plus the new single for Khalid and the Eurovision national final.

But...getting back to this week and yet again Ariana Grande is number one with "7 Rings" and really the only way this will lose number one is if the new single "Break up with your girlfriend, I'm Bored" knocks it off the top spot.

Former chart topper "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee remains at number two. Now I have really come to like this song a lot if I am being honest but unfortunately I don't see it retaking the number one spot.

Then we have the biggest new arrival of the week and I cannot believe I am writing this. "bury a friend"  by Billie Eilish at number three, now this song is holding up impressively well and is even dragging some other Billie Eilish songs back up the chart...we'll get to those in a minute but I can see this song sticking around.

"Wow" by Post Malone remains at number four because streaming still loves it.

The arrival of Billie Eilish's "bury a friend" pushed "Sweet But Psycho" by Ava Max back two places to number five and "Without Me" by Halsey one place to number 6. In the latter's case, good,  because it's not a good song.

In good news (at least to me), we finally saw "Dancing With a Stranger" by Sam Smith and Normani jump three places to number 7. It's a terrific song, I really want to see this go top 5.

Can't say the same for "Sicko Mode" by Travis Scott and Drake as that only dropped two places to number eight. Bleurgh.

Sadly, "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" by Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus dropped two places to number nine. There's talk of new music from Miley later this year so we'll have to wait and see on that one!

"Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper rounds out the top 10 at number ten having dropped two places. I can see the song actually rebounding

Gains

Honestly, not a whole lot to talk about here with "I'm So Tired" by Lauv and Troye Sivan the biggest gainer of the week up ten places from its debut last week to number 37.

Then there's 'Hope" by The Chainsmokers and Winona Oak which climbed four places to number 36. and "Lie to Me" by 5 Seconds of Summer which broke into the top 40 up from 42 to 38 this week.

I mentioned earlier that Billie Eilish song's were clawing their way back up the chart, this was the case particularly for "Lovely" with Khalid jumping from 43 to 34.

Sadly "3 Nights" by Dominic Fike seems determined to be a hit because it's up from 32 to 26 to annoy the hell out of me.

Finally, "Waiting" by Kian jumped 4 places to 15 because we need Aussies doing well on the charts right now.

Re -Entries

There's one re entry this week and it comes from NOTD feat. Felix Jaehn, Captain Cuts and Georgia Ku's song "So Close" which returned at 47

Losers

The biggest loser this week was Gesaffelstein and The Weekend's "Lost in the Fire" which slipped from 36 to 48. Ouch.

Unsurprisingly Ocean Alley's "Confidence" fell out of the top 10 to number 18 (Not surprising really).

Total non starter "Ruin My Life" by Zara Larsson dropped from 38 to 44.

Unfortunately "1999" by Charli XCX and Troy Sivan slipped six places to 30 and really a lot of 2018 songs lost traction this week with "Be Alright" by Dean Lewis to 23 from 16, "In My Mind" by Dynoro to 39 from 33.

"Middle Child" by J Cole dropped from 15 to 19. This song is becoming a huge hit in the US and for the life of me I don't see it's appeal.

Drop Outs

The drop outs make a lot of sense here, with "Losing it" by Fisher and "I Said Hi" by Amy Shark dropping out given both appeared on the chart due to air play from the Hottest 100 countdown.

We finally lost "Rise" by Jonas Blue feat. Jack and Jack, a song I don't mind but it had it's time on the chart.

Also "Lost in Japan" by Shawn Mendes dropped out which also makes sense because they tacked a shitty Zedd remix to it.

New Entries

So apart from Billie Eilish, there's only two other new entries to mention with Kehlani's new song with Ty olla $ign "Nights Like This" arriving at 41 (it's a pretty good song, check it out)

Wrapping up this week is A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's new single "Look Back At it" entering at number 45.

Next week will be the damage from the ensuing Ariana Grande album bomb that is sure to hit the chart hard but if she only managed four songs off Sweetener....we'll see. Also expecting Khalid and Kate Miller-Heidke new entries. The chart will be revealed at 5pm on Saturday

Charting 1996: February 11th 1996: Hitting a Wonderwall.

We have a rather interesting week here. Another new number one and some big shifts up and down the chart, even a couple of new arrivals

So let's get to that top ten and like I said we have a new number one with Oasis claiming top spot with "Wonderwall", its their first number one single in Australia and yeah I still like it, its a great rock song.

Last week's number one, "Boombastic" by Shaggy drops to number two but remains a solid chance of returning to the nnumber one spot if sales take an upswing for him.

One of the big movers in the top ten is Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason" which jumped two places to number three and could very well make a play for number two if either song above it shows any weakness,

Deep Blue Something continue to have "Breakfast at Tiffany's" inside the top ten however its now inside the top 5 with "Breakfast at Tiffany's" up three places to number 4.

That all meant that La Bouche's "Be My Lover" got pushed back three places to number five (thank goodness).

Groove Theory are in the top ten with "Tell Me" as it jumped five places to number six. I don't mind the song so happy to see it here.

George Michael's "Jesus to a Child" dropped one place to number seven while Mariah Carey Boyz II Men collab remains at number one in the US but it dropped four places to number eight in Australia.

Also back in the top ten is "Let's Groove" by CDB which jumped from 13 to number nine.

Wrapping up the top ten is "Boom Boom Boom" by The Outhere Brothers at number ten.

Gains

Big gain for LL Cool J's "Hey Lover" which jumped from 33 to 19 this week while Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet" jumped from 23 to 14.

Another big gainer is Joan Osborne's "One of Us" which jumped from 48 to 34. I actually suspect this song could well become a hit. same goes for Eternal's "Power of a Woman" which jumped from 44 to 36 this week.

M.C. Sar and The Real McCoy jumped five places to 23 with "Automatic Lover (Call for Love)"

In good news, there was also a move up for Alanis Morissette's "Hand in My Pocket" which is up four to 13.

In not so good news, M People's cover of "Itchycoo Park" is up to 27 from 36 because we need more shittty covers on the charts.

Losers.

So the biggest losers this week was Michael Jackson's "Earth Song" which fell 11 places from 34 last week to 45 and Bon Jovi's "Lie to Me" which fell 12 places to 47.

Pearl Jam's "Merkinball" EP dropped from 25 to 33, Disappointingly "Fairground" by Simply Red fell from 26 to 31 and in great news, "Stayin' Alive" by N-Trance feat. Ricardo Da Force fell six places to 30

New Entries

We got a chunk of new entries mostly at the lower end of the chaet with the highest debuting song being "Peaches" by The Presidents of the United States of America at 35

Alex Party's "Wrap Me Up" arrives at 44, Vybe arrive at 48 with "Warm Summer Date". Def FX snag 49 with "Psychoactive Summer" and finally the New Power Generation turn up at 50 with "The Good Life".

Tuesday 5 February 2019

ARIA Singles Top Ten/ Chart Review: 4th February: Hottest 100 shakes up the chart

Well I'll give Ttiple J's Hottest 100 credit for shaking up the chart this week because that's where most of our new entries and a new arrival in our top ten this week come from and thank goodness for that because it was an otherwise pretty stagnant week within the top ten.

Unfortunately, '7 Rings" by Ariana Grande remains at number one and at the moment, I don't see what can possibly knock her off the top spot especially with the numbers she's likely to do with the album "Thank U, Next" out on Friday but there's no doubt that "7 Rings" sucks all amounts of ass.

It's probably not going to be "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee which remains at number two but its getting pushed back on streaming and while digital sales are pretty good it's facing a challenger from a new arrival next week.

Nor is it going to be "Sweet But Psycho" by Ava Max which remains at number three and like "Sunflower" its getting pushed back on streaming hard even with digital sales still being excellent.

A song that looks like it might stick around is "Wow" by Post Malone, it's not a threat for number one but wow, it's streaming numbers are okay but "Sunflower" is really doing better on the digital sales.

Now we reach the first of the songs on the chart that look to have been boosted by the fact they appeared on Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown and quite highly too. Travis Scott and Drake's "Sicko Mode" was voted in at number 3 on that countdown and with people streaming the song through out the week meant it got a six place boost back up to number six, now I don't expect this boost to last beyond this week.

"Nothing Breaks Like A Heart" by Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus also appeared on the Hottest 100 but it remains at number 7 on the ARIA singles chart.

Returning to the top ten this week is "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (a song I do love and want to see the US make a hit0 which on the back of strong digital sales saw it climb from 11 to 8 and should climb even higher post the Oscars in a few weeks,

The highest new entry of the week belongs to Sydney band Ocean Alley with "Confidence" entering at number nine and yes, they topped the Hottest 100 which is the only reason this song is in the top ten. It's a decent song, if you are into rather cruisey psychedelic rock/reggae fusion then check out Ocean Alley.

Finally, we have a song that I haven't been able to stop listening to, "Dancing With A Stranger" by Sam Smith and Normani remaining at number 10.

Gains

Billie Eilish released a new single on Friday and she also has the biggest gainer this week with "When the Party's Over" up from 31 to 23. I cannot wait for the album from Billie to be honest.

Apart from that, there was a decent gain for Dominic Fike's "3 Nights" which jumped 6 places to 32.

Re-entries

The Hottest 100 is also responsible for the two re-entries this week. Mercifully both are songs I like to outright love with "Lovely" by Billie Eilish and Khalid back at 43 and "I Said Hi" by Amy Shark back at 48

Losers

Plenty of songs lost ground this week with "Lost in the Fire" by Gesaffelstein and The Weekend dropping 12 places to 36.

"Lost in Japan (Remix" by Shawn Mendes dropped 11 places to number 50

Others to fall include Khalid's pretty good "Better" fell 5 places to 20 while "Happier" by Marshmello feat. Bastille dropped 7 places to 21.

"Thank U, Next" by Ariana Grande stumbled 5 places to number 11 (it should return to the top ten next week)

Drop Outs

Six songs dropped out including "Perfect' by Ed Sheeran after a whopping 80 weeks inside the top 50!

Also gone is the pretty damn awful "Day Drunk"  by Morgan Evans, "So Close"  by NOTD feat. Felix Jaehn, Captain Cuts and Georgia Ku, "Imagine" by Ariana Grande and "2002" by Anne-Marie.

Hell, the only song I am kind of disappointed to see gone is Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".

New Entries

So apart from Ocean Alley, J Cole debuts at number 15 with "Middle Child, he has cracked the Us top 5 with this song, I don't care for the song all that much if I am being honest.

An new entry due to the Hottest 100, "Losing it" by Fisher at number 35 - a song that I respect more than I actually like.

Finally a song that enters pretty much due to digital sales. "I'm So Tired" by Lauv and Troye Sivan at 47.

So that completes the week and yeah while I am not thrilled about the current number one, I am liking a lot of songs with the top 20 but next week sees the debut of Billie Eilish's new single "Bury A Friend" and I have a feeling that it will chart highly, find out on Saturday at 5pm AEDT.

Sunday 3 February 2019

Charting 1996: February 4 1996, The chart goes Boombastic!

Man, if anything has characterised the opening months of 1996, it's been the inconsistent and sometimes wild swings and while last week was calm, this week was a little crazy and little more reminiscent of the week, "Jesus to a Child" by George Michael went number one because folks, we have yet a nother new number one and it's one I kind of predicted last week would challenge rather than hit number one outright, the new number one is Shaggy's "Boombastic" which climbed eleven places to reach the top spot.

I don't mind "Boombastic", Shaggy sells the song with plenty of charisma and heck, it's a lot of fun, I'll take it over some songs that went number one in 1995 for a start like Jann Arden's "Insensitive" (a song that really does annoy the hell out of me)

I'll even take "Boombastic" over our new number two which is "Be My Lover" by La Bouche...christ, that song is grating.

In better news, Oasis's "Wonderwall" climbed over to number three. in fact both "Be My Lover" and "Wonderwall" pushed "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men. "One Sweet Day" spending it's NINTH week at number one in the US.

Tracy Chapman joins the top 5 with "Givfe Me One Reason" climbing one spot. Not that it needs a reason to climb up the chart because its an excellent song

Last week's number one, "Jesus to a Child" fell 5 places to number 6.

One of the biggest gainers of the week is Deep Blue Something's "Breakfast at Tiffany's" which jumped from 20 to 7. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure song for me to be honest.

"Gangsta's Paradise" by Coolio feat. L.V. continues to gracefukly work its way out of the top ten down 1 place to number eight.

"Boom Boom Boom" by The Outhere Brothers feel four places to number nine as it continues to lose steam.

Finally remaining at number ten is "Apple Eyes" by Swoop.

Gains

So apart from the big gains from Shaggy and Deep Blue Something gained big. Well...Monica's "Don't Take it Personal (Just One of Dem Days)" is up ten places to 14. "Diggin' On You" by TLC seems to have plenty of momentum behind it so it's up 9 places to 18.

"It's Oh So Quiet" by Bjork tiptoed quietly up 7 places to 23 while LL Cool J is also up 7 with "Hey Lover" at 33make

Re-Entries

Only one new entry this week "New" from Regurgitator returned at 50.

Losers

Not too many big losers this week, of those that lost maybe Pearl Jam's "Merkinball (EP)" which fell from 19 to 25.

New Entries

Three new entries this week led by Eternal's female power anthem "Power of A Woman" at number 44. The Outhere Brothers new single " La La La Hey Hey" arrives at number 45 and Joan Osborne's "One Of Us" makes it's debut at number 48.

So pretty bussy old week, can "Boombastic" keep hold of number one? Or will La Bouche or Oasis snatch it away, find out next week.
