So let's be honest this week was one of the quietest weeks of the year apart from some minor shifting within the top ten and just two new entries.
Lil Nas X spends a second week at number one and normally I would say that he has a lock on a third week but with Taylor Swift's new song set to likely challenge for number one so it's really turning into a numbers game.
Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" stays where it is at number two as Eilish's album "When We all Fall asleep, where do we go" returned to the top of the ARIA album chart.
Dominic Fike's "3 Nights" climbed two places to number three given some strong streaming, it effectively pushed "Sucker" by the Jonas Brothers back to number four and "Talk" by Khalid and Disclosure back to number 5.
"Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee regained ground up one place to number 6 switching with Post Malone's other top ten hit "Wow" which went back to number 7.
Arriving in the top ten is Avicii's "SOS" with Aloe Blacc which went up three places to number 8. This song is doing well on sales and looks like it might have traction on streaming. It's one of two songs new to the top ten this week.
"Here with Me" by Marshmello and CHVRCHES remains at number nine.
The second song that is new into the top ten is Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Loved" which umped three places to reach the top ten at number ten.
Gains
The biggest gain of the week belongs to Birds of Tokyo's "Good Lord" which jumped 11 places to 25 this week.
Happy to see "Woke Up Late" by Drax Project feat. Hailee Steinfeld up six places to 23 and "Exit Sign" by Hilltop Hoods feat. Ecca Vandal and Illy up five places to 22.
"So Am I" by Ava Max has leapt into the top 20, it's up from 22 to 14. I really am not the biggest fan of this song, it does feel like she's tried to copy the "Sweet But Psycho" formula but it didn't quite work.
"Lovely' by Khalid and Billie Eilish is back in the top 40 up from 42 to 37 while Dean Lewis's "Stay Awake" is up 6 places to 40.
Re-Entry
We have one re-entry this week, just a pity it's Imagine Dragons "Bad Liar" which returned at number 49. Really, Australia?
Losers
The losers are actually not the worst news this week, the biggest being "My Bad" by Khalid which dropped eleven places to 39 while Khalid's "Outta My Head" with John May slipped 8 places to 29. and "Better" slipped 7 places to 27.
"Kill this Love" by Blackpink slipped even further this week down to 43 from 34 while "Boy with Luv" by BTS featuring Halsey dropped out of the top ten down six places to 16.
Billie Eilish's "Wish You Were Gay" slipped 7 places to 21.
Drop Outs
Three songs fell out this week with two songs belonging to Ariana Grande with "Monopoly" feat. Victoria Monet and former number one "Thank U, Next" finally finding the exit.
Also gone is Khalid's "Saturday Nights" (which is disappointing, that song isn't bad)
New Entries
We got two new entries this week with one being pretty good and the other a slice of cringeworthy awful/ The highest debut going to the better song thankfully that being Amy Shark's "Mess Her Up" (I really wished "The Idiot" had of been the single but anyway) debuting at number 44.
Lil Dicky has rounded up some of the biggest names in music like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande for a song that is allegedly said to be trying to send a message about the effects of climate change but crumbles in its attempted message with stupid and unfunny jokes, did we really need a baboons arse joke, Justin? but regardless, "Earth" debuts at number 46.
On that pretty crappy note, that finishes this week's top ten/chart review. We'll see what Taylor Swift's new song does, it does seem like it's on a trajectory toward a top 3 or top 5 debut, the public's reaction to the song has been weird to say the least, also the fact that Taylor is returning so soon after the Reputation era in 2017.

Charting 1996: April 28th. Boyzone go number two
So this week is a bit of a strange one, it feels like not a lot happened but there was actually a fair bit that happened but we'll get to all that a bit later but let's deal with the issue of the top ten first where for a third week and honestly this could be number one for quite awhile with those sales.
Boyzone continue to surprise as they rise from 3 to 2 with "Father and Son". Honestly I am not a fan of this cover at all. Feels very twee but whatever the case, it pushed this year's longest running number two "Missing" by Everything but the Girl. "Missing" is starting to show signs that it might be ready to leave the top ten.
Australia is stil showing it's "California Love" to 2pac feat Dr Dre as "California Love" rose one place to number four.
The surprise for me is 3T's "Anything" climbed into the top 5 jumping one place to number 5.
A song headed perhaps for higher honours is Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" which leapt up two places to number 6, it's got a pretty solid footing right now, it went past "Spaceman" by Babylon Zoo which remained stagnant at number seven.
Joan Osborne slipped hard out of the top five down four places to number eight with her former chart topper "One of Us"/
Finally the last two songs stayed put with Eternal's "Power of a Woman" at number 9 and "Salvation" by The Cranberries at number ten

A Rantish Kind Of Review of AJR's "Neotheater"
I don’t normally do album reviews because I just don’t have
the ability to cut apart and explain an album’s arc like other people who put
together album reviews but I just put
and pushed myself through quite the nightmarish experience that I never want to
go through again with the only solace being on Twitter venting about it during
the listen to this album in the hope that NOBODY else will put them through
what I did willingly.
The album is from “indie pop” trio AJR entitled “Neotheater”,
it’s this group’s third album after the release of their widely panned
sophomore album “The Click” in 2017. I didn’t listen to “The Click” mostly
because I had seen several reviews on Youtube suggest it was one of the worst
albums of the entire decade and decided that I’d be better off avoiding and
stick to listening to other albums which were much more appealing to me anyway
however that wasn’t the case this time around with “Neotheater” because I
somehow got the idea that this album couldn’t possibly be as bad as had been suggested
by Jon at ARTV so of course I decided to give “Neotheater” a go.
Folks, “Neotheater” by AJR is comfortably one of the worst
albums I have ever had the displeasure of listening to and am left wondering
who the hell thought this absolute rancid load of faux deep garbage, that
wouldn’t be out of place being played on Satan’s P.A system on repeat as a form
of torture, was good enough for the public to hear because seriously there are
next to no redeeming factors from this album.
Let’s deal with the lyrics because for the most part the lyrics are just inane
whinging that lacks the self-awareness or any basic grounding to make any of it
interesting especially in terms of the arc of growing up and the fear of
becoming adults especially as within the first two or three songs, the whinging
becomes really quite insufferable.
Take for example, the track “Karma” where they are bemoaning
that they aren’t getting anything in return for being “Good, helpful and
friendly” but complains that even though he is being all those things, he feels
‘hollow’ and that he is getting no good karma from being all these things in
return. What do you want, dude? A fucking pat on the back or congratulations
that you’ve managed to be good all year? Cause that ain’t going to happen. Also
you fail to address the fact that by helping somebody and being friendly that
you feel good about yourself but “Karma’ doesn’t do that instead the song goes
on and on about all these bad things that have happened in spite of the good
things he has done which of course he doesn’t outline in any of the verses.
Now let’s talk about “Beats”, a song so irreversibly stupid
I wondered what the point of putting it on the album was. “Beats” is basically
a song where AJR wonder if they’ll get money for promoting Beats headphones by
Dre so they can pay for recording the whole song while in the verses wondering
whether people will recognise their songs should some sadistic supermarket play
them while they are in the produce aisle. Quite why a supermarket would play
this garbage AJR call music I don’t know.
There are so many more examples of awful lyrics like the
contemptible “Break My Face” or the nonsense that is “Don’t Throw Out My Legos”
– well let’s deal with the latter because this song really sums up the
immaturity and sheer lack of growth in the song writing, which is ironic
considering this album is supposedly all about growing up, that AJR have shown in two years since they
released “The Click” and made me wish that they’d step on lego so they could
feel the similar pain I felt listening to this mind numbing abortion of a song.
AJR are moving out of home and all they think to say to their parents before
they head for their new home is “Don’t Throw Out my Legos” after years of being
fed, clothed, educated etc by these poor parents and all your worried about is
mum and dad not throwing out the lego so the lego is there in case you return
home. TAKE THE GOD DAMN LEGO WITH YOU THEN. At least Carrie Underwood’s “Don’t
Forget to Remember Me” had a semblance of being grateful for everything her mum
and dad had done for her.
What makes all of this worse is the production which for the
most part a mono genre slurry where AJR try to have a whole lot of noise and
when there is a small moment where something sounds good, it gets hit with some
noise to make you want to cringe. Take for example “Wow, I’m Not Crazy” which
features a high pitched voice going “Yep Yep Yep yep” and it sounds atrocious,
at leat when the Martians on Sesame Street repeat “Yep yep yep yep” to
oblivion, they occasionally added an “Uh huh” to make interesting and it
actually sounded good, the noise on “Wow, I’m Not crazy” made me want to throw
things out the window.
“Here’s the Entertainment” has gang vocals and oh a pitched
whistling sound over the chorus for no god damn explainable good reason. For
me, most of the production on this album was just noise after noise that set my
teeth on edge,
At most, this album and its arc of not wanting to grow up or
face reality as an adult is very much represented in terms of the way AJR write
their music with very little maturity or with any pathos that would make any of
this mono genre slurry or really bad two year old joke interesting.
This gets pretty damn generous 1/10 and that’s only because
I don’t believe in awarding 0/10. I can only hope AJR go away and do some solid growing up in terms of their songwriting and lyrics writing because this was just headache inducing

ARIA singles chart top ten/chart review: 22nd April 2019. Old Town Road takes number one and BTS debut in top ten
I need to get better at reading the Australian public. Seriously. I got it horribly wrong last week when I suggested that it was likely Billie Eilish could keep number one because....
That didn't happen and the new number one is "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X and the remix with Billy Ray Cyrus. It got here courtesy of those streaming numbers which while not better than our current number two "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish, the combined streaming numbers of "Old Town Road" and it's Billy Ray remix were enough for it to push past Billie.
So yeah as I said "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish went back to number two after a two week run at number one.
Jonas Brothers "Sucker" remains stuck at number three as their new single "Cool" is getting roundly lambasted for being a pretty god awful song.
"Talk" by Khalid and Disclosure is up to number four proving that Australia has a major love affair with Khalid (he has better songs that this one!)
Also up one is Dominic Fike's "3 Nights" to number five. Ugh.
"Wow" by Post Malone got pushed back two places to number six while his other hit former number one "Sunflower" with Swae Lee continues to show it's longevity by remaining at number 7.
Also stable is "Bury A friend" by Billie Eilish at number eight while "Here with Me" by Marshmello and CHVRCHES continues to infuriate by climbing one spot to number 9 (Australia, you ignored CHVRCHES better songs but you let this become a hit?).
The highest new entry of the week isn't a surprise, it comes from BTS who have teamed up with Halsey for "Boy With Luv": which has debuted at number 10. Now like most other K-Pop songs, I am not expecting this one to stick around and its already slipping down Australian streaming charts but hey the song is actually decent so I'll take it at number ten for now.

Charting 1996: 21st April 1996. The Cranberries find Salvation in the Top Ten
So in stark contrast to the wild shifts and swings we have gotten so far this year, we have a fairly normal week with a normal amount of shifting,
OMC's "How Bizarre" stays at number one for a second week and really its more a question of longevity at this point with the sales still being decent, it held off "Missing" by Everything But the Girl which has done everything but reach number one however with its position starting to show signs of weakness I can see it just missing number one.
Boyzone's surprising rise up the chart with "Father and Son" continues as it rose one place to number three surpassing "One of Us" by Joan Osborne which dropped back to number 4.
"California Love" by 2Pac feat. Dr. Dre rose one place to hit the top 5 at number five while 3T's anything also surged up a place to number six.
Babylon Zoo's "Spaceman" continued it's descent down two places to number 7, it's starting it's slow exit, I expect this to be gone from the top ten sooner rather than later.
Alanis Morissette continues her run of chart success with "Ironic" up two places to number 8, it pushed back "Power of A Woman" by Eternal to number 9.

So outside the top ten, there was an eight place gain for Take That's "How Deep Is Your Love" to number 12.
After 7 breaks into the top twenty with "Til You Do Me Right" up from 25 to 18. Oasis join them in the top 20 at 19 up from 23 with "Don't Look back in Anger" and Mariah Carey finally sits inside the top 20 at number 20 with "Always Be My Baby" (I actually expected this song to be doing much better than it is considering it's performance in the USA).
The Max-A-Million cover of "Sexual Healing" is for some reason gaining traction so it's up nine to 30. Why anyone wants that, I do not know.
La Bouche hit number 34 with "Sweet Dreams (Ola Ola e)" up from 41 while Pulp's "Sweet Disco" is up 37 from 46.
Re-Entries
One returning entry and it comes from Everclear with "Santa Monica (Watch the World Die)" is back at number 43.
Losses
Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's huge hit "One Sweet Day" has taken a ten place plunge to 50 as it finally heads toward the exit, also heading toward a rather quick exit is "Real Love" by The Beatles which slipped from 35 to 49.

OMC's "How Bizarre" stays at number one for a second week and really its more a question of longevity at this point with the sales still being decent, it held off "Missing" by Everything But the Girl which has done everything but reach number one however with its position starting to show signs of weakness I can see it just missing number one.
Boyzone's surprising rise up the chart with "Father and Son" continues as it rose one place to number three surpassing "One of Us" by Joan Osborne which dropped back to number 4.
"California Love" by 2Pac feat. Dr. Dre rose one place to hit the top 5 at number five while 3T's anything also surged up a place to number six.
Babylon Zoo's "Spaceman" continued it's descent down two places to number 7, it's starting it's slow exit, I expect this to be gone from the top ten sooner rather than later.
Alanis Morissette continues her run of chart success with "Ironic" up two places to number 8, it pushed back "Power of A Woman" by Eternal to number 9.
Now for a new entry at number ten from The Cranberries, the song is called "Salvation" which from their forthcoming album "To the Faithful Departed" out on April 30. Hope it does well for them

So outside the top ten, there was an eight place gain for Take That's "How Deep Is Your Love" to number 12.
After 7 breaks into the top twenty with "Til You Do Me Right" up from 25 to 18. Oasis join them in the top 20 at 19 up from 23 with "Don't Look back in Anger" and Mariah Carey finally sits inside the top 20 at number 20 with "Always Be My Baby" (I actually expected this song to be doing much better than it is considering it's performance in the USA).
The Max-A-Million cover of "Sexual Healing" is for some reason gaining traction so it's up nine to 30. Why anyone wants that, I do not know.
La Bouche hit number 34 with "Sweet Dreams (Ola Ola e)" up from 41 while Pulp's "Sweet Disco" is up 37 from 46.

ARIA singles chart top ten/chart Review: 15th April. Old Town Road goes number two as Khalid mini bombs the chart
So this week was a more normal week, we got a small album bomb from Khalid and with BTS likely to have one to maybe two songs arrive on the chart on Saturday and one of the worst charity songs I have ever heard next week, I am kind of grateful or what was a pretty quiet week.
Billie Eilish has a second week at number one with "Bad Guy" and it looks like it will get a third week at the top with its pretty impressive streaming numbers.
That said the US number one "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X is also doing some pretty impressive numbers and could challenge if time was right but with the loaded release schedule ahead, it's going to need to have a big week next week to take number one before Taylor Swift blows everyone aside the week after but regardless "Old Town Road" jumped from 18 to number 2.
The Jonas Brothers drop back to number 3 with "Sucker" as a result and really my opinion on this song is cooling a bit. It reminds me of a much better song "Feel It Still" by Portugal the Man and every time I hear "Sucker", I feel like I could do much better but anyway.
Post Malone stays steady at number four with "Wow"
The arrival of Khalid's tepid second album "Free Spirit" meant that "Talk" with Disclosure rocketed from 11 to number five (I expect this song to fall away).
"3 Nights" by Dominic Fike has also experienced a recovery following the album bomb surging up three places to number six.
"Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee drops 1 place to number 7 while "Bury a Friend" by Billie Eilish drops 5 to 8 and "Wish You Were Gay" by Billie Eilish suffers a four place plunge to number 9. Not surprising the two Billie Eilish songs fell while the album bomb receded.
What was surprising is that Australia has decided to give CHVRCHES their first ever top ten hit and I can't say I am thrilled its "Here With Me" with Marshmello, CHVRCHES have much better songs than this one, Australia but "Here With Me" jumped 11 places to reach number 10.
Gains
Khalid's album mean "Better" was the biggest gainer of the week jumping from 40 to 17 while "My Bad" is up to 14 from 30.
The UK number one "Someone You Loved" has smashed into the top 20 up to 19 from 26 as it looks to make the same impact in Australia.
Another UK hit smashing the chart is "Don't Call Me Up" by Mabel which jumped 10 places to 28 as she announced her debut album this week.
In good news for Aussie artists Hilltop Hoods "Exit Sign" with Ecca Vandal and Illy is up to 34 from 43 and looks like continuing to go up given strong streaming.

The best charting BTS song (Until next week) is "Idol" at number 35. I'd be surprised if "Kill this Love" stuck around.
Khalid got his song "Outta My Head" with John Mayer to debut at number 20 while Ariana Grande's new song "Monopoly" with Victoria Monet finally debuts at 21. (Starting to think Ariana burn out might be a thing, I think some people are sick of her)

Charting 1996: April 14th. A new number one, how bizarre!
Well I didn't see this coming, sure I saw signs of weakness in the number one but didn't think it would lose the number one this week and yet...well let's talk about that because our new number one is New Zealand group OMC with "How Bizarre" and yeah, this looks to have a little bit of staying power at the top but right behind it is "Missing' by Everything But the Girl which remains strong at number two.
What isn't so strong is the previous number one "One of Us" by Joan Osborne which dropped from number one back to number three as sales declined for "One of Us" with there being a big push for "How Bizarre"
Boyzone somehow have enough strength via their cover of Cat Stevens "Father and Son" climbed past "Spaceman" by Babylon to reach number four pushing "Spaceman" back to number 5"
Then we have a trio of one place gains with "California Love" by 2pac feat. Dr Dre at number 6, "Anything" by 3T at number 7 and "Power of A Woman" by Eternal at number 8.
Slipping back three places is "Get down on it by Peter Andre feat. Past to Present at number nine. Kind of surprised this is still in the top ten if I am being honest.
Then at number 10, we have Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" which climbed four places to reach the top ten which is good because "Ironic" is a good song.

So it was a bit of a quiet week but we did get a decent sized gain for The Presidents of the United States with "Peaches" breaking into the top 20 at number 13 up from 21 last week. "Don't Stop" by CDB broke into the top 30 up four to 28.
"I Want to Cokme over" by Melissa Etheridge is up 11 places to number 30 while "Bulls on Parade" by Rage against the Machine is up to 29 from 36.
Human Nature look to have had one of the biggest gains of the week with "Got It Goin' On" up to 33 from 47 last week while "These Days" by Bon Jovi rides up to 38 from 46.

ARIA Singles Chart/Chart Review: 8th April. Billie's bomb explodes spectacularly.and brings with it a new number one
I normally hate album bombs, they just mess the chart up in the worst way but honestly, I think the album bomb that struck this week courtesy of Billie Eilish's number one album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go" made things interesting, cleared some deadwood and was rather historic because Eilish broke Ed Sheeran's record for the most songs inside the top ten, Sheeran's record was five songs when Divide had its own album bomb in 2017, Eilish smashed it with six songs reaching the top ten so let's get to that top ten.
"Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish is the new number one mostly courtesy of some massive streaming during the week. It's Eilish's first number one in Australia and probably won't be her last. If anything this confirms she is here to stay.
"Sucker" by the Jonas Brothers never a stood a chance of holding onto number one as it got blown back to number two.
Streaming was also a big factor for "Bury a Friend" by Billie Eilish leaping up from 13 to number 3 (which is good news as it will likely make my year end list).
"Wow" by Post Malone got pushed back two places to number four this week.
"Wish You Were Gay" by Billie Eilish jumped from 21 last week to number five this week courtesy of the album bomb.
The 2nd of the Post Malone songs "Sunflower" feat. Swae Lee dropped three places to number six.
Biggest gain of the week belongs to Billie Eilish with former top ten single "When the Party's Over" just racing from number 40 to number 7 because like other previous singles from Eilish, it benefitted from the album release.
"All Good Girls Go to Hell" by Billie Eilish debuts at number eighyt this week.
"3 Nights" by Dominic Fike drops 4 places to number nine after hitting number 5 last week, I expect this song to rebound when these Billie Eilish songs fade away next week.
Finally another Billie Eilish album track "Xanny" wraps up the top ten at number ten.
Gains
We are short in the gains department this week but for what gains we did get they are sizeable with Lil Nas X's US number 1 "Old Town Road" jumping from 47 to 18. Now this song will likely break into the top ten next week as it is doing very well on streaming and on digital sales plus it's got a remix with Billy Ray Cyrus of all people.
Then there's the big gain for "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi which went up 20 places from 46 to 26.
Re-Entry
The one return is "You Should See Me in a Crown" by Billie Eilish is back at number 16 because of the album release.
Losers.
So I am only going to cover the really BIG losses because A LOT of songs lost ground this week. with the biggest loss coming for "Giant" by Calvin Harris feat. Rag 'N' Bone man which stumbled big time down the beanstalk to 37 from 19.
"Sicko Mode" by Travis Scott feat. Drake slipped from 25 to 39 in a piece of good news while in some bad news, "Waiting" by Kian got a huge hit down to 36 from 24. J Cole's "Middle Child" slipped from 28 to 41.
Khalid's "My Bad" took a swipe down 12 to 30 while Halsey's "Without Me" slumped to 28 from 16. and "Eastside" by Benny Blanco feat. Khalid and Halsey dropped from 20 to 31
Dean Lewis pair of hits "Be Alright' slipped from 17 to 34 and "7 Minutes" from 10 to 25 as the momentum behind his album release stalls out
Even the album bomb took Pink's "Walk Me Home' down to 22 from 11.
Finally a song that will definitely make the year end, "Sweet But Psycho" slipped from 14 to 27.

"Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish is the new number one mostly courtesy of some massive streaming during the week. It's Eilish's first number one in Australia and probably won't be her last. If anything this confirms she is here to stay.
"Sucker" by the Jonas Brothers never a stood a chance of holding onto number one as it got blown back to number two.
Streaming was also a big factor for "Bury a Friend" by Billie Eilish leaping up from 13 to number 3 (which is good news as it will likely make my year end list).
"Wow" by Post Malone got pushed back two places to number four this week.
"Wish You Were Gay" by Billie Eilish jumped from 21 last week to number five this week courtesy of the album bomb.
The 2nd of the Post Malone songs "Sunflower" feat. Swae Lee dropped three places to number six.
Biggest gain of the week belongs to Billie Eilish with former top ten single "When the Party's Over" just racing from number 40 to number 7 because like other previous singles from Eilish, it benefitted from the album release.
"All Good Girls Go to Hell" by Billie Eilish debuts at number eighyt this week.
"3 Nights" by Dominic Fike drops 4 places to number nine after hitting number 5 last week, I expect this song to rebound when these Billie Eilish songs fade away next week.
Finally another Billie Eilish album track "Xanny" wraps up the top ten at number ten.
Gains
We are short in the gains department this week but for what gains we did get they are sizeable with Lil Nas X's US number 1 "Old Town Road" jumping from 47 to 18. Now this song will likely break into the top ten next week as it is doing very well on streaming and on digital sales plus it's got a remix with Billy Ray Cyrus of all people.
Then there's the big gain for "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi which went up 20 places from 46 to 26.
Re-Entry
The one return is "You Should See Me in a Crown" by Billie Eilish is back at number 16 because of the album release.
Losers.
So I am only going to cover the really BIG losses because A LOT of songs lost ground this week. with the biggest loss coming for "Giant" by Calvin Harris feat. Rag 'N' Bone man which stumbled big time down the beanstalk to 37 from 19.
"Sicko Mode" by Travis Scott feat. Drake slipped from 25 to 39 in a piece of good news while in some bad news, "Waiting" by Kian got a huge hit down to 36 from 24. J Cole's "Middle Child" slipped from 28 to 41.
Khalid's "My Bad" took a swipe down 12 to 30 while Halsey's "Without Me" slumped to 28 from 16. and "Eastside" by Benny Blanco feat. Khalid and Halsey dropped from 20 to 31
Dean Lewis pair of hits "Be Alright' slipped from 17 to 34 and "7 Minutes" from 10 to 25 as the momentum behind his album release stalls out
Even the album bomb took Pink's "Walk Me Home' down to 22 from 11.
Finally a song that will definitely make the year end, "Sweet But Psycho" slipped from 14 to 27.

Charting 1996: 7th April. Some California Love debuts in the top ten
So again this week felt a little slow because yet again the top two haven't changed with "One Of Us" by Joan Osborne number one for a fifth week, now it's looking a bit shaky with signs that sales are slowing for this song but whether it's enough for "Missing" by Everything But the Girl, who stayed at number two, to take number 1is open question.
Perhaps the big threat is "How Bizarre" by OMC which went up one place to number three pushing "Spaceman" by Babylon Zoo back to number four.
Continuing it's gains from last week, "Father and Son" by Boyzone jumped two places to number 5.
"Get Down On It' by Peter Andre feat. Past and Present dropped back one place to number six and it looks headed for the top ten exit.
We have a new entry at number seven this week with 2Pace feat. Dr Dre's "California Love". Now given this song's release has come post 2pac being released from prison, I suspect this song could be huge especially in the US.
3T's :"Anything" jumped two places to number eight.

ARIA singles top ten/ Chart Review: 1st April: Chart braces for the Billie Bomb
First thngs first, lets not take this week too seriously because make no mistake, that Billie Eilish album bomb is going to detonate with some force next week and it's pretty much going to be interesting what survives and really beyond a two interesting new entries that are currently huge overseas
Let's deal with the top ten first off where "Sucker" by Jonas Brothers remains at number one for a third week, whether or not it gets a fourth week remans an open question with "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish now at the top of the charts on streaming servives, "Sucker" could well be on borrowed time at number one.
Then we go back to "Wow" by Post Malone which returned to number two, Post Malone is pretty much battling with himself because "Sunflower" with Swae Lee fell back to number three. I don't see "Sunflower' returning to number one.
Remaining at number four is Ariana Grande's "7 Rings" (which still sucks and still needs to be gone from the chart as soon as possible, Australia!) as it's streaming remained steady.
Somehow because Australia seems to think "3 Nights" by Dominic Fike is worth something, ots up three places to hit the top 5 at number 5.
"Dancing With a Stranger" by Sam Smith feat. Normani stays at number six.
"Talk" by Khalid and Disclosure goes up one place to number seven, I expect this song to climb with the release of Khalid's sophomore album on Friday.
"Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper slipped 3 places to number 8 as the Oscars hype falls away. Its amazing this song is still in the top ten quite honestly.
"Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored" by Ariana Grande drops two places to number nine. Expect to see a song called "Monopoly" by Victoria Monet on the chart soon as Ariana has a co-sign on that song.
Finally Dean Lewis has his second top ten hit with "7 Minutes" up 7 places to number ten courtesy of the release of the album last Friday but like I said with Billie Eilish album bomb ahead, I don't expect any top ten longevity for this song.
Gains
The biggest gain this week belongs to Marshmello and CHVRCHES song "Here With Me" which went from 35 off it's debut last week to 22. (Seriously, this is going to be CHVRCHES first serious hit? Ugh).
Also up off it's debut last week is "Don't Call Me up" by Mabel which went to 34 from 38.
The album also meant former number one "Be Alright" by Dean Lewis went back into the top twenty at number 17.

A song that I thought would be doing a bit better than it is is "Please Me" by Cardi B and Bruno Mars which dropped nine places to 39.
A bit of an inconsequential loss for "Wish You Were Gay" by Billie Eilish which fell from 15 to 21 but that will regain some lost ground and then some next week.

Also gone are "Pure Water" by Mustard and Migos (Migos have really struggled to have anywhere near the traction in Australia as they do in the US), the "Mi Gente" rip off "I Can't Get enough" by Benny Blanco feat. Tainy, Selena Gomez and J. Balvin, "Close to Me" by Ellie Goulding feat. Diplo and Swae Lee (really don't care for that song) and "Saturday Nights" by Khalid (Likely to return soon because of the album)
New Entries
Four brand new entries this week and some of these have been HUGE in other parts of the world although the highest debut goes to Dean Lewi s with "Stay Awake" at number 26.
Ava Max has tried to follow up "Sweet But Psycho" with "So Am I" which has landed at number 29.
At number 46 is the current British nunmber one "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi (Yes, he is a distant cousin of former Doctor Who Peter Capaldi). Really, hope this song is a hit.
Finally a song that is big in the US due a controversy over whether it belongs on the Billboard country charts, it's "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X which is somehow become huge more due to the controversy rather than anything else.

Charting 1996: March 31st: Cover songs do well as Joan Osborne hangs on
So this week feels a little two paced as for a fourth week, Joan Osborne remains at number one with "One Of Us" and really I am not seeing what could knock this song off the top spot. It must the week for covers because the biggest debut of the week belongs to Take That's cover of the Bee Gee's 1977 song "How Deep is Your Love" at number 14. I'll stick with the Bee Gees version, thank you very much!
Speaking of boy bands, we need to go all the way down to 48 where we find Australian boy band Human Nature with their debut single "Got It Goin' on" and I got to be honest here, this song is really something quite catchy even if that bridge is a little yikes!
Canadian singer songwriter Deborah Cox snares number 49 with "Sentimental" which isn't a bad song I guess. Heard worse R'n'B elsewhere.
Finally at number 50 is a Croatin singer and model Tatjana with "Santa Maria". A song that would have sounded good in 1991 not in 1996!

It must the week for covers because the biggest debut of the week belongs to Take That's cover of the Bee Gee's 1977 song "How Deep is Your Love" at number 14. I'll stick with the Bee Gees version, thank you very much!
Speaking of boy bands, we need to go all the way down to 48 where we find Australian boy band Human Nature with their debut single "Got It Goin' on" and I got to be honest here, this song is really something quite catchy even if that bridge is a little yikes!
Canadian singer songwriter Deborah Cox snares number 49 with "Sentimental" which isn't a bad song I guess. Heard worse R'n'B elsewhere.
Finally at number 50 is a Croatin singer and model Tatjana with "Santa Maria". A song that would have sounded good in 1991 not in 1996!
