ARIA Singles top ten/ Chart Review: 13th January. Is Dance Monkey is about to be dethroned for good?

So all signs point toward there being a new number one sooner rather than later and that new number one may not even come from our current top ten speaking of which "Dance Monkey" by Tones and I held onto number one for a twentytbird week...yes, its sales are still very good but streaming is showing sudden signs of slowing down going forward and that isn't a good sign

I'd say it's good news for "Don't Start Now" by Dua Lipa which remains at number two however it's started to slip on sales, its really holding on by virtue of streaming, it managed to stave off the big challenge of one of the big movers within the top ten which is "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd, this song is gaining traction on sales and streaming so it's one to watch over the next few weeks.

That pushed "Roxanne" by Arizona Zervas back to number four, its only real presence is on streaming and it's looking tenuous there for it, same could be said for "Circles" by Post Malone which remained at number five this week despite losing ground on sales and on streaming.

Maroon 5 fell two places to number six with "Memories" (Good) while "Ride It" by Regard dropped back to number seven.

At number eight is the highest debut of the week which is *sigh* unfortunately "Yummy" by Justin Bieber. Now I am expecting this song to fall off as the well deserved backlash against this song continues.
Tones and I slipped back one place to number nine with "Never Seen the Rain" while "Adore You" by Harry Styles remains at number ten.

Gains
The biggest gain this week was "Before You Go" by Lewis Capaldi which jumped six places to number 12.

"My Oh My" by Camila Cabello and Da Bay rose from 25 to break into the top 20 at 19...unfortunately...it's not a good song.

Re Entries
Just the one re-entry this weekend that being Khalid's "Up All NIght" at 48.

Losers
The biggest loser this week is "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X which slipped from 16 back to 29 as it leaves gracefully, it took "Senorita" by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello down eight places with it to 28 and "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee down from 27 to 33.

Travis Scott's "Highest in The Room" lost it's grip and fell from 15 to 21.

Drop Outs

All the drop outs are 2018 or 2019 hits with 2018's "Lucid Dreams" by Juice WRLD gone taking with it 2019 hits like "Choir" by Guy Sebastian and "The Git Up" by Blanco Brown.

Also gone are "Truth Hurts" by Lizzo and "Teeth" by 5 Seconds of Summer

New Entries

The rest of our new entries have to be a lot better than "Yummy" by Justin Bieber new in at number eight, right?

Well there's the new US number one 'The Box" by Roddy Ricch at 18, this song is huge right now, there's potential for a big climb into the top ten in Australia next week.

US group Brockhampton score their first ARIA singles charting song with "Sugar" new in at 37. Surprised it's taken this long with their immense social media popularity.

Finally the very poor "The Reaper" by The Chainsmokers and Amy Shark is in at 47.

So that wraps up the week and wow, I am not sure if "Dance Monkey" can get a 25th week at number one, the challengers are coming for it. We'll probably get boosts for "Lose You to Love Me" by Selena Gomez off the back of her album being released and maybe Halsey's new song, we'll see when the chart updates on Saturday at 5pm AEDT
