So this week was a interesting one to say the least, we've some big changes down in the lower half of the top ten even if the top two remain completely stagnant with "Fastlove" by George Michael at number one for a second week and honestly I don't see what is topping it.
r
OMC's "How Bizarre" looks closer to stepping down the chart than going back to the top even as it stayed at number two.
Triple X's "X-Files theme (Version Dance" moved up one place to number three because The X-Files are pretty huge right now, it swapped with "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette which went back to number four.
Max-A-Million somehow climbs three places with their cover of "Sexual Healing" to number five, it pushed "Missing" by Everything But the Girl back to number six
A new arrival to the top ten lies at number seven and I am glad it's here with "Nobody Knows" by The Tony Rich Project. It's a terrific song and deserves to be here having climbed five places to reach number seven.
Making a return to the top ten is La Bouche this time with "Sweet Dreams (Ola ola e)" at number eight having climbed three places.
Heck, these new arrivals pushed ?California Love" by 2Pac feat. Dr Dre back three places to number 9.
Wrapping up the top ten is the third new arrival to the top ten that being "Children" b Robert Miles which went up 8 places to hit number 10. I don't really care one way or the other about this song so not all that bothered it's here.
Gains
Gina G's "Ooh Aah...Just a Little Bit" continues to climb breaking into the top twenty at number 19 with a ten place gain.
Big surprise was the big gain for Chynna Phillips sg "Naked and Sacred" which climbed 12 places to number 23.
"Glycerine" by Bush jumped 11 places to 29 this week...that song may well become a cult hit.
Losers
So Human Nature's strange chart run with "Got it Goin' On" continues because it went from 19 to 36. Weird, huh?
"How deep is your love" by Take That went down nine places to 39 while "One of Us" by JOan Osborne slipped from 26 to 38.
New Entries
The highest new entry of the week belongs to Bryan Adams, he is at number 28 with "The Only Thing That Looks Good on Me is You". I don't see it sticking around quite honestly.
Brisbane band Powderfinger have made their ARIA chart debut with "Pick You Up" debuting at number 34 closely followed by John Farnham's new single "A Simple Life" at number 35.
Stone Temple Pilots land their fourth ARIA singles chsrt entry with "Big Bang Baby" at number 42 while Def Leppard "Work It Out" at number 43.
Finally Gloria Estefan arrives at number 50 with "Reach"
So that wraps up the Australia chart, lets check out what's happening in the US and U.
UK Top 5 (Official charts)
The UK have been hit by World Cup fever with "Three Lions" by Baddiel, Skinner and Lightning Seed taking the number one spot from "Ooh Aah...Just Little Bit" by Gina G which takes the number two spot.
There's a new entry for Peter Andre feat. Bubbler Banx entitled "Mysterious Girl" at number three. Watch for it here.
Tony Rich Project are up two places to number four with "Nobody Knows" while at number five is Metallica with "Until It Sleeps" (also keep an eye on that one).
US Top 5 (Billboard Hot 100)
Its a second week at number one for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony with "Tha Crossroads" ahead of "Be My Baby" by Mariah Carey at number two and "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion at number three.
The only change comes with "Nobody Knows" by The Tony Rich Project back up to number four pushing "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette back to number 5.
