Anyway getting to the top ten, remaining at number one for a sixth week is "Youngblood" by 5 Seconds of Summer, it's really a question of whether it will hang onto number one when Drake's songs unload on the chart, at the moment it seems like it will given it's still going well on sales and streaming.
What is unlikely to have a shot at going to number one at the moment is "Girls Like You" by Maroon 5 featuring Cardi B remaining at number 2 for another week, its going to get hit by the Drake wave next week, heck it's already being pushed back now on streaming.
Post Malone's "Better Now" (the only song that has stuck around from his "Beerbongs and Bentleys album bomb) remains at number 3.
Now for some inexplicable reason, "Sad!" by XXXtentacion climbed 4 places to number 4 to outpeak the song's previous run on the chart which no, given "Sad!" is pretty much XXXtentacion guilt tripping an ex girlfriend and is a half a song it's not a good thing.
However what is a good thing is the massive rise for "Lovely" by Billie Eilish and Khalid which jumped from 11 straight into the top 5 at number 5. Granted it's a song from the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack but I am really happy to see it in the top ten.
I'm also happy to see "2002" by Anne Marie take a 2 place hit to number 6.
Sadly one of the most grating pop songs of recent times, "Solo" by Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato got a 5 place gain to break into the top ten at number 7 but given it's been number 1 in the UK, hardly a surprise.
XXXtentacion has the biggest debut of the week though with "Jocelyn Flores" debuting at number 8. (sigh)
It pushed back "Back to You" by Selena Gomez down three places to number 9. Bit unfortunate that the pending Drakepocalypse will likely push this song out of the top ten. I like it a lot, it's the best thing Selena has done as a solo artist.
Finally "One Kiss" looks to have had its run in the top ten ended, it slipped three to number 10 this week.
Gains.
The biggest game of the week was for "Jackie Chan" by Tiesto, Dzeko, Preme and Post Malone (I presume mostly because of Post Malone) which climbed from 44 to 23.
Unfortunately "XXXtentacion also impacts on the gains because "Changes" jumped from 34 to 15.
"I Wanna Know" by NOTD and Bea Miller jumped from 36 to 26.
In good news, Conrad Sewell's "Healing Hands" gained off it's debut last week thanks to a recent spate of promotional performances, it went up to 37.
Re-Entries
It's baaacck! We can't let go of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" so its back for a 74th week on the chart at number 48.
Losers
Sadly the excellent "Remind Me to Forget" by Kygo and Miguel was the biggest loser this week as it slipped from 21 to 36.
There were some big falls across the board this week for great songs though with "Love Lies" by Khalid and Normani falling from 10 to 22, "No Tears Left to Cry" by Ariana Grande slipping from 5 to 11 while "I Said Hi" by Amy Shark slipping from 9 to 13. Also Shawn Mendes "In My Blood" slipped to 39 from 32 last week.
Kanye West's "All Mine" dropped 4 places to 17.
Meanwhile the awful "Dance to This" fell off it's debut of 39 to 47. Yikes. Not a good sign for Troye's album and I presume it's because people have realized the song is bad.
Drop Outs
So I am sad to be losing '1950" by King Princess and "Youth" by Shawn Mendes and Khalid but they are taking some crap with them including "Somebody" by The Chainsmokers and Drew Love and the terrible Calum Scott cover of "Dancing on My Own" and also "You Are the Reason" by Calum Scott.
Also gone is "Friends" by Marshmello and Anne Marie which should make the year end list...lovely...not.
New Entries
So apart from XXXtentacion, the other new entries are actually lower down the chart and are alright for the most part.
"Rise" by Jonas Blue feat. Jack and Jack enters at 41,
"High Hopes" by Panic! at the Disco enters at 44 because of the release of the album "Pray for the Wicked" which went to number one on the ARIA album chart
King Princess has a new song on the chart with "Make My Bed" entering at 45.
Finally "Sober" by Demi Lovato entered at 50. (Demi's most vulnerable and haunting song to date).
So yeah that wraps up what was a pretty busy chart however time to go and get into lock down the impending arrival of the Drakepocalypse.
