The top ten has undergone some renovations this week, it's fair to say, there's been some big moves...none bigger than the new number one or what is pushing into the top ten this week.
As for what left the top ten? Well really, Pink's former number one hit "What About Us?" dropped out of the top ten but I expect her newest release "Beautiful Trauma" to debut inside the top ten this week.
So I mentioned we have a new number one and that new number one is "Rockstar" by Post Malone feat. 21 Savage. "Rockstar" is their first Australian number one.
Remaining at number two this week is Dua Lipa with "New Rules".
"Glorious" by Macklemore feat. Skylar Grey rebounds three places to number 3. I expect that this song could well overtake "New Rules" for number 2 in light of Macklemore's peformance at the National Rugby League Grand Final, he also has a debut which IU will get to.
Last week's number one 'Tood Good at Goodbyes" by Sam Smith dropped three places to number four.
"1-800-273-8255" by Logic feat. Alessia Cara and Khalid climbed two places to number 5. Surprised to see this song doing so well in Australia if I am being honest.
"Thunder" by Imagine Dragons lost some of its gains last week to fall back to number six
:"Dusk til Dawn" by Zayn and Sia regained some momentum to reach number 7.
At number 8 is "I Like Me better' by Lauv which climbed two places, yet again another song I am surprised is a massive hit.
Former chart topper "Look What You Made Me Do" by Taylor Swift dropped from number 3 to number 9, it wasn't a great week for Taylor on the Australian charts either.
A new arrival to the top ten rounds out the top ten this week with "Sorry Not Sorry" by Demi Lovato jumping two places to sit at number 10.
Biggest gainer this week; That easily was "Havana" by Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug, it climbed from 34 to 16. Also big gains were had by "Feel It Still" by Portugal the Man from 20 to 15 and "What Lovers Do' by Maroon 5 and SZA.
Biggest loser is Niall Horan's "Too Much to Ask" dropping from 23 to 35, also big drops for Kesha's "Praying" which fell from 15 to 22 and Taylor Swift's pronotional single "...Ready for it?" dropping from 17 to 26.
As for the drop outs this week, one significant one really which was "I'm the one" by DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Quavo and Lil Wayne, also out of the ARIA top 50 went "Waves" by Dean Lewis and "Redbone" by Childish Gambino.
I mentioned Macklemore had a debut enter the charts this week, well he and Kesha have the lone new entry this week with "Good Ol' Days' entering the chart number 25. New entries to the top 100 this week were: "A Different way" by DJ Snake feat. Lauv at 59, "Stargazing" by Kygo feat. Justin Jesso at 74, "The Man" by The Killers at 84 (hard to hide my joy at seeing this song finally break into the top 100), "Yesterday" by 360 feat. Hein Cooper at 88 and "DNA" by k-pop band BTS at 99.
Two re-entries to the top 50 with "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran (the latest single from Divide" returning at 41 and "Let Me Go" by Hailee Steinfeld feat. Alesso and Watt at 49.
Expecting next week to be weird with Macklemore and The Killers likely to have a stack of songs each enter the top 50. "Same Love" by Macklemore has been top of iTunes charts for days now, Tom Petty's death will undoubtedly trigger the return of a few of his songs to the chart and the Beyonce remix of "Mi Gente" could well make a charge for top ten but we'll see what happens.
