ARIA Singles Chart top ten/ Chart Review; February 26

This week was weird to say the least, the songs that I thought would challenge didn't and the songs that had momentum last week continued that momentum this week and there's no finer example of that then our top ten so let's get stuck into that.

Right now, Drake looks pretty much to be a lock on number one long term with "God's Plan", it's a fourth week at the top and really with songs below it fighting each other, I don't see what knocks it off.

Continuing it's momentum from last week is Kendrick Lamar and SZA's "All The Stars" which climbed from 5 to 2 this week.

This forced "These Days" by Rudimental feat. Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen back to number 3. Needs to pick up on streaming. Seriously.

"Meant to Be" by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line remains at number 4,

Post Malone is doing huge business with his new single 'Psycho" but "I Fall Apart fell two places to number 5.

"River" by Eminem feat. Ed Sheeran got a boost back up to number 6 while "IDGAF" by Dua Lipa continues to smash it's way up the chart jumping two places to number 7.

"Perfect" and various remixes by Ed Sheeran feat. Beyonce or Andrea Boccelli fell two places to number 8.

"Finesse" by Bruno Mars feat. Cardi B slipped to number 9, This song has really had no consistent momentum whatsoever,

Rounding out the top ten at number 10 is "Pray for Me" by The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar.

Gains

Biggest gainer of the week was "We're Going Home" by Vance Joy which rose from 44 to 31 which is great news and seems set to continue that momentum following the album release this week.
Not great news is the continued rise for "The Middle" by Zedd featuring Maren Morris and Grey which went up to 16 frim 27,

"Friends" by Marshmello and Anne-Marie climbed 10 places to 22, Migos also did a ten place climb from 40 to 30 with "Stir Fry". Bazzi went up 5 to 12 with "Mine"

Losers

Khalid had the biggest loser of the week with "Young, Dumb and Broke" falling from 28 to 36. "Re-Write The Stars" by Zac Efron and Zendaya dropped to 34, "Anywhere" by Rita Ora to 42, Most of the losers are those that were already losing ground anyway really.

Drop Outs

No real surprises here with "Homemade Dynamite (remix)" by Lorde, Khalid, SZA and Post Malone gone, it took with it "You are the Reason" by Calum Scott and "How Long" by Charlie uth,

New Entries

Three songs arrived fresh to the chart with the best of them being the collaboration between Khalid and Fifth Harmony's Normani called "Love Lies: at 29, it's brought with it "Think About You" by Delta Goodrem at 32 and "Capital Letters" by Hailee Steinfeld and Bloodpop (another song from the 50 Shades Freed soundtrack) at number 43

As for outside the top 50, the best of them is "Look Alive" by BlocBoy JB feat Drake at 51 (I expect this to arrive in the top 50 next week), "You Owe Me" by The Chainsmokers entered at 82 and "Hurt Somebody"  by Noah Kahan and Julia Michaels arrived at number 95,

So will something challenge "God's Plan" soon? Seems like it's set for a long run at number one unless Post Malone and Ty Dollar $ign can do something about it.

See you all soon for New Music Friday Review.
